National Carers Week is a chance to highlight and celebrate the work of Unpaid Carers. Throughout the week, organisations across the UK will be raising awareness of issues facing Carers.
It is vitally important that we not only recognise the contribution Carers make to their families and local communities, workplaces and society, but that they get the support they need to continue caring while maintaining their own health and well-being.
This year’s theme is ‘Putting Carers on the Map’ which aims to highlight the increasing pressures carers and to campaign for much-needed recognition and support, particularly with the general election coming up.
This includes raising awareness about the challenges Carers face which impact on their finances, employment, health and wellbeing and ensuring policymakers and politicians take steps to better support Carers’ needs.

A huge part of Carers Week is raising awareness in the community. You can do this by adding your voice to the Carers Wall, putting a poster up in your window, sharing on social media, and many other ways.
Visit the Carers Week website to add your voice to the wall of Carers. Share your story about being a Carer to help show the wide range of roles that Carers take on. It takes less than 5 minutes to do via a quick online form.
You can download the Carers Week posters to display in a window, or ask a local business to display one for you.
The best way to raise awareness is to share your own story with the people you know, and social media is a great way to do this. There will also be plenty of posts throughout the week from Stirling Carers Centre and the official Carers Week channels. Every post shared helps raise more awareness.
