Having a break from your caring role is vital for your mental and physical health, but we know how difficult it can be to get one. Our team can help you to find opportunities for a break, plus we have funding available to help you get it, whether that’s a regular weekly short break or a longer time away.

We also know that the worry of who will care while you’re away can be a big barrier. Speak to our team and we can look at available options for you.

Shared Care Scotland

Shared Care Scotland is the National Carer Organisation that oversees Carer breaks.  Their short breaks directory is a great place to start when looking for a break, and they can help you to find funding to take the break.

Carer Break Schemes

The Time to Live fund provides micro grants of up to £300 to enable Carers to take a break. This could be a night away, hobby supplies or equipment, tv/magazine subscription, gym or fitness classes, or anything else that will make a difference to your well-being.
